Account Director

Department: Account Service
Location: Pittsburgh, PA

We are looking for an Account Director to join our Pittsburgh office. As the Account Director, you will serve as a high-level business contact for the client and will be responsible for meeting client business objectives, supporting all program initiatives with a focus on providing excellent customer service to accounts and representing client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality. The ideal candidate is an expert in building relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities and while managing the account team for specific brand(s). The Account Director at 9Rooftops is the main point of contact for clients and is heavily involved in liaising with existing clients and internal teams such as creative, media, strategy and technology within the agency.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all aspects of solutions provided to clients including all areas of agency capabilities to include strategy, online and offline advertising campaigns, direct marketing, creative, search, social media and technical development.
  • Collaborate with team leads of other departments and offices to improve and execute on client deliverables, processes and output.
  • Work with project management to track all categories of spending for projects and ensure projects are delivered within the approved budget.
  • Manage client approval/signoffs at project milestones, fostering strong relationships with key client personnel.
  • Grow revenue on assigned accounts based on strategic account planning, effective project delivery, relationship management and proactive recommendations,
  • Lead, develop and mentor junior account service team members assigned to accounts.
  • Identify client and industry specific initiations and develop strategic recommendations based on clear understanding of client’s business and business objectives.
  • Communicate the client's goals and represent the client's interests to the team — work closely with the project team in order to maintain knowledge of current project status to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.
  • Lead weekly internal and client (as needed) status meetings with input from project management and other internal team members.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met and projects are profitable.
  • Provide regular two-way communication between the client and team in order to deliver strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
  • Understand company capabilities and service and effectively communicate all offerings to the client — seek ongoing client opportunities for growth and increased revenue for the agency and lead clients in areas to grow their business.
  • Develop close working relationships with all other departments, including those not based within the agency — these relationships are fundamental to delivering the superior service that we will be judged on. (example: Eastport Holding partners.)
  • Be responsible for client communications and compliance on client deliverables by reviewing all major deliverables (e.g., strategic briefs, creative briefs, creative presentations) to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met.
  • Organize, prioritize, multitask and work independently, with little or no supervision related to the management of general business operations/
  • Demonstrate strong client presentation skills with the ability to provide concise, clear reporting and analysis.
  • Demonstrate a strong media background with retail e-commerce expertise.
  • Utilize excellent organization skills with a strong attention to detail to manage all agency and client expectations to ensure projects are delivered within contracted agreement.
  • Frequently travel overnight when required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5-7 years of account/agency experience.
  • Proven account management skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships.
  • Proven track record of leading major accounts and exceptional client service skills.
  • Strong hands-on experience and team management experience — motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator.
  • Demonstrated analytical and reporting abilities.
  • Proven project management and team contribution capabilities.
  • Experience in preparing and working with key performance metrics.
  • Excellent time and calendar management skills.
  • Adaptability in fast-paced and pressured environments while remaining proactive, resourceful and efficient.
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with internal teams.
